Artificial intelligence has long been part of our everyday lives. Nevertheless, there are hardly any moments in which we pause together and reflect on how it is changing our understanding of being human.
“Day of the Human Spirit” is a speculative holiday that addresses exactly that. The project designs a new ritual practice for dealing with AI. While artificial intelligence increasingly influences work, creativity, and decisions, many people experience uncertainty, a loss of control, or the fear of becoming replaceable.
The focus is on the brain as a symbol for thinking, feeling, creativity, doubt, and contradiction. A rose-pink color scheme sets a counterpoint to the cool images of the technological future.
The central element is the ritual “Coffee and AI”: an AI cake is eaten together with the hands. The absurd break of the rules makes fears and tensions visible and invites people to rethink the relationship between humans and technology.
