With the demography changing globally, gradually the share of elderly people in the age composition of the population is increasing. Older women in particular, who are far more outnumbered than men, have a greater chance of living alone and will face more psychological and life challenges. How to help them live a better life with less feelings of loneliness is the focus of this project.
SOLUS SIMUL means alone together and the proposal provides a space for older women to live together. Here, residents are able to close the doors of their private flats and also have the opportunity to work with others in all aspects of daily life. Not only does it reduce the risk of isolation, but it also increases the number of social activities that make life enjoyable for older women. A place offers both privacy and community.
