Description

‘Serviervorschlag’ uses places and spaces that will soon no longer exist in urban space. The collective uses an urban, artistic and political research approach to deal with discarded architecture and places threatened by demolition. Spaces such as the Allianz high-rise or the City-Höfe are disappearing from Hamburg’s cityscape, sparking controversy over building policy. One of the threatened buildings is in Hamburg’s St. Georg district. The daily lives of the residents are often overlooked in the midst of social conservation regulations, the interests of the owner and political judgements. The problem was addressed through networking activities in the neighbourhood, an exhibition and an open staircase day. A website was developed for the archive, playing with fragments of the house, and the analogue form was also linked to disappearing residential relics in the exhibition context.
