Description

Fashion is more than fabric and style. Especially in adolescence, young people are looking for their place in society. Branded clothing is often used to boost self-esteem, to present oneself and to make a name for oneself. However, this quest has the potential to be manipulated. Although luxury and high fashion can boost self-esteem, they can also undermine personal development and convey a false identity.

An illusionary installation in public space, entitled ‘SEE YOURSELF’, explores the tension between outward appearance and inner authenticity. The symbolic elements and creative staging encourage viewers to promote their own self-awareness and identity discovery. It becomes an inspiring mirror that reveals the ambivalence between outward appearance and inner truth and encourages self-reflection.
