Description
In the work seatless, the feeling of being in between is filmically depicted in the context of belonging and change of location. The focus is on a loop short film that portrays the inner turmoil and the search for stability using the metaphor of a wobbly chair. The protagonist attempts to set up a stable seat for herself and adapts to it spatially and physically. Film techniques such as editing and sound support the depiction of the inner conflict. Through the combination of a non-linear narrative structure, abstract body postures, and the protagonist’s monologue as a voiceover, viewers are meant to be encouraged to identify and reflect. The goal of the project is to make the complexity of being in between visually and emotionally experiential.
