Description
The project “Himmel, Himmel” deals with the dual meaning of the term “Himmel” (sky/heaven) in a physical and religious context. It examines the metaphysical concept of heaven while simultaneously establishing connections to the physical sky in order to stimulate reflection on their relationships as well as a dreamy gaze upward. The result is an installation in which the current sky is analyzed and, at the push of a button, transferred to a level of interpretation where associative terms regarding the religious heaven from a database are assigned to the nature of the real-time sky. Accompanying this is a booklet, similar to a catalog, which contains theoretical and technical foundations, the structure of the installation, as well as further examples of skies and their heavenly interpretations.
