Description

More than a third of primary school children are taken to school by “parent taxis“. This has negative consequences for road safety and the environment, and above all, the “over-motorised” journey to school hinders children’s development. What can be done with untrainable taxi parents? How can the journey to school be made safer – and more active for children in terms of motor skills and social behaviour? A scooter and more: The motor skills required to ride a scooter are lower than for a bicycle and allow more room for concentration on the road. However, a scooter alone cannot fulfil the product development objectives. An app is needed to connect parents. The app is used to organise groups of students to travel to school together and to identify safe routes to school. If necessary, the app should also be used to arrange for parents to accompany groups of students.
