Description

Sābu is a modular tableware system that combines the aspects of serving and storing food. The design deals with the current problematic food culture and the resulting food waste, of which 50% is in private households. The design takes up the method of Meal Prepping as a modern variation of cooking in advance. It connects this with the aspect of table culture in order to re-establish lost references and competencies regarding the selection, preparation and preservation of food and to promote more mindfulness in the culture of eating. The modular tableware can be used as such or, joined together via a silicone ring, be used to store food. The tableware system is composed out of four bowls with filling volumes from 250 ml to 1000 ml and aplate and enables individual use through variable combination possibilities.
