Description

The concept “RollO” aims to promote inclusion in the transport network over the next ten years. RollO's space planning is primarily oriented toward the needs of wheelchair users in order to improve the quality of service for them. However, passengers with walkers, baby carriages or similar mobility devices will also benefit equally. To do that, different space requirements are taken into account and, with the help of intelligent, automated systems, the user experience while boarding and disembarking and passenger interactions can be optimised. Transport providers gain more flexibility to support passengers in a variety of ways in local transport. In the context of intermodal and demand-responsive mobility, RollO not only supports barrier-free transportation in rural and suburban areas, but also helps reduce spatial-use conflicts in high-volume traffic.
