"In Sich Stark" is an innovative approach to reinforcing clothing fabrics or pants to address specific textile "problem areas". The project focuses on the needs of individuals outside of the mainstream societal "body norm" and emphasises interdisciplinary collaboration between fashion and textile design. By developing partial fabric reinforcement and putting it into action on a Jacquard loom, the durability of apparel fabrics was improved. The target group was addressed with a redesign of conventionally cut pant construction s and optimization of the seam arrangement. In addition, the directly woven pants demonstrated new possibilities for streamlining production processes. As a result, "Strong Within Itself" offers a promising way to create durable garments that suit diverse body types while promoting sustainable practices in the fashion industry.
