Description
“Revalio Color” examines the design potential of thermochromic inks in wallpaper design. The goal is to develop surfaces that react to heat and thereby enable an active interaction between material, space, and humans. By combining thermochromic pigments with digital printing, screen printing, and haptic effect materials, new design and functional application possibilities for wallpaper are explored. This resulted in two collections of interactive wallpaper samples. The children’s wallpaper “Peek a Bug” makes hidden motifs visible through touch and creates playful moments of discovery. The designer wallpaper collection “Silent Motion” focuses on subtle color changes within organic patterns. Both concepts are based on pigments that are activated above a defined temperature threshold and lose or change their coloration. In this way, color becomes a dynamic design element that reacts to its environment.
