Description

The project explores the transformative potential of textiles in combination with additive manufacturing. The focus is on an experimental design process in which plastic is specifically applied to pre-tensioned textiles. After the tension is released, these independently form three-dimensional shapes. The resulting objects move between softness and strength, challenging established concepts of materiality and form.

The resulting objects are not the outcome of a predetermined design, but have emerged in an open process in direct dialogue with the material. Between material experiment and designed form, they elude clear classifications and exist in a tense relationship between the familiar and the unknown. They invite the viewer to question customary patterns of perception and interpretation.
