Hans Gugelot with the M125 system, Fritz Haller with USM Haller and Jürg Steiners more recent System 180 managed to develop state-of-the-art furniture systems in their era. But are these systems still up to date today? An ever-increasing desire of society for individualism and sustainability is also shifting the focus in design. Today we put together individual furniture with the help of online configurators and thus give you a piece of our identity. But this individuality finds its limits in the configurators. But this individuality finds its limits in the configurators. What happens when we give users the opportunity to realize their ideas themselves? The problem areas in developing a good furniture system are your connection points and therefore your greatest asset. Here I would like to start with the question of how a sustainable furniture system of the future, which primarily is based on one connecting element, can be designed.
