E-mobility is crucial for the energy transition, yet an insufficient charging infrastructure is slowing its adoption. Heavy charging cables, long waiting times, poorly accessible stations, and urban regulations make charging electric vehicles particularly challenging in metropolitan areas. This design project develops a mobile charging system that operates like a delivery robot: it brings electricity directly to the vehicle and starts the charging process automatically, eliminating the need to visit a charging station. The ‘pod’ system flexibly and efficiently supplements existing infrastructure — in car parks, outdoor parking areas, or residential neighbourhoods without dedicated charging facilities. App-controlled, compact, and user-friendly, ‘pod’ provides a time-saving and accessible charging solution for urban spaces. The aim is to reduce charging barriers, increase acceptance of e-mobility, and promote sustainable transportation.
