‘PCOS – Understanding Hormone Chaos’ is a visual awareness campaign about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), one of the most common hormonal disorders in women. Although about 1 in 10 is affected, around 70% remain undiagnosed. Symptoms such as exhaustion, acne, or menstrual disorders are frequently not taken seriously, both socially and medically. This is where the project comes in: It supports those affected in categorizing their symptoms, feeling understood, and gaining access to reliable medical professionals. The heart of the campaign is the ‘Chaosbande’ (Chaos Gang) – six characters who embody central PCOS symptoms and make the invisible visible: DOT, NEP, OVA, IRA, CHUB, and HARI. They create identification and convey the message: ‘Your symptoms are real. You are not alone.’
All measures lead to an interactive scrollytelling website that offers understandable information, recognition, and direct access to medical professionals.
