Panta Rhei
für eine angenehmere Wahrnehmung öffentlicher Orte
Description
Train stations are central hubs of our daily lives and shape our coexistence in urban spaces. The abundance of stimuli and information causes stress and overwhelm for many travellers. In response, we develop individual coping strategies, which increasingly lead to social isolation.
Panta Rhei addresses this issue by offering a catalogue of measures to simplify visual, olfactory, and auditory perception in train stations – exemplified by its application at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz underground station.
The modular system can be flexibly adapted to spatial conditions and applied both to new constructions and existing buildings. The guidance system is based on the number of entrances and exits and supports intuitive orientation. In addition, ceiling modules with functional inlays improve the visual and olfactory spatial perception.
Panta Rhei creates new qualities for public spaces and thus strengthens social interaction.
