Description

Communal living is not only efficient but also fosters social interaction.
However, precisely where closeness and exchange should take place — in the kitchen — this potential often remains untapped. Many shared kitchens are designed for simple, cost-effective production and are therefore more suited to cooking alone: functional, but not community-oriented.

To make the kitchen not only functional but also a social meeting place, the concept of the cooking and dining workbench ‘COOKiN’ was developed. Its shape and size create space for both collaborative work and individual use. Users stand opposite each other, and the cooking process becomes a social event that encourages spontaneous conversations and cooperation. COOKiN forms the centre of the kitchen — strengthening daily interaction and establishing it as a vibrant place of community.
