Description

Water is a natural element deeply connected to humans. In my master’s thesis, I explore the potential of ‘water droplets’ as a design material and visual tool. By integrating water into interior spaces, I investigate textile methods to visually highlight water droplets, thereby enhancing human psychological comfort. This conceptual membrane could naturally regulate the indoor climate by causing water droplets to appear and evaporate.

This project is situated within the growing interest in natural materials that serve as sustainable solutions to ecological problems. Lyocell in particular was used as a monomaterial, partially made hydrophobic by plant-based oils. This optimizes the material’s response to water. This innovative combination of green thinking and sustainable design opens new possibilities for material design in forward-looking, environmentally conscious fields.
