Description

The concept of "nurholz" is based on a wood connection that derives from a traditional Japanese technique. This connection enables chemical- and hardware-free furniture construction using monomaterial, allowing for the reintegration of the raw material into the techno-sphere and biosphere. At the core of this connection is an eccentric rotating element, which allows for easy assembly and disassembly. By employing digital manufacturing techniques such as CNC milling, parametric designs can be realized, facilitating mass customization. As an exemplary design utilizing this connection, a parametric stool has been created, combining high load-bearing capacity with anatomical variability and scalability.
