Description
The “Jenseits von Millionen” Festival takes place once a year in Friedland, Brandenburg. It promotes solidarity and takes a stand against racism and other forms of discrimination. Every year, it attracts numerous young people from Berlin and Leipzig to the countryside to enjoy music, take a break from city life and socialise. However, most interactions take place among the visitors themselves, while there is hardly any exchange between them and the locals.
To stimulate social interaction the modular system “networked” was created. The individual components can be easily assembled and disassembled and are stabilized with construction fence stones. Different modules invite users to rest in various ways (eg. standing, sitting, lying down)depending on their needs. A roof provides shade and comfort. Thanks to its flexible structure, it can adapt to different locations and event formats, helping to create a space to celebrate community and to promote dialogue.
