‘Luola’ is a modular learning bench designed to provide primary school children with a space in the classroom that they can organise according to their needs. For example, ‘Luola’ can be used as a quiet, sheltered work area or as a darkened den for breathing or reading. It is designed to encourage children to listen to themselves and think about what they need. By simply moving screws and wooden parts, ‘Luola’ can fulfil different functions. The assembly instructions provide teachers with a wide range of possible uses. At the same time, the modular and uncomplicated design invites users to try out their own variations and integrate ‘Luola’ individually into their everyday school life. You don’t have to limit yourself to the parts in the kit. Additional materials such as string or rolls of paper can also be used to customise ‘Luola’.
