Description

Layers of Value - is a reproducible system that offers the possibility to bring textiles and materials from industrial waste such as "deadstock" and "pre consumer waste" into a further life cycle. For this purpose, existing yard goods and yarn remnants are combined in layers and joined by means of known technologies, such as embroidery. This creates new qualities that can be processed into limited editions. “I am responding to the current situation of our textile industry.” Possible fields of application are interior design as well as fashion. Included materials and components: Blended textiles | Fiber blends that cannot be separated or can only be separated by means of a high chemical load. Pre-consumer waste | Production waste generated during the manufacture of textile surfaces. Yarn remnants on cones. Overproduction from the home textile industry | Textile surfaces with different fiber blends, cone waste. The project includes a prototype library (dimensions up to 35cmx 55cm).
