Visuelle Kommunikation von Musikalischem Diskurs
Description
The starting point of my thesis was my love of classical music and the desire to explore and reflect on this music within a design framework. In an initially open-ended process, I analysed existing visual and linguistic worlds as well as the institutional structures of classical music. In the tension between design and music, and between humour and seriousness, I explored various approaches to visualising music. This resulted in a collection of associative images and stories that process classical music both analytically and playfully. From this material, a campaign concept was ultimately developed for the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau (without a specific commission), which visually recontextualises classical music for a younger audience and actively invites discourse in the concert hall. With this work, I aim to build a bridge between design and cultural mediation and to inspire new audiences for classical music.
