Description

Since stop-motion production is declining due to its time-consuming nature, I focused on a solution in my thesis that keeps this technique alive.
I developed a fictional production company called Pixel and Clay Productions, which combines traditional stop-motion with modern technologies. Clay figures are modelled and photographed, and AI takes over the animation, bringing the typical stop-motion style to life much more quickly.

The project is a horror film in which a girl escapes her oppressive everyday life and goes into the forest. There she discovers an old mirror that leads her into a nightmarish world. She must confront her deepest fears and a repressed past that reveals a dark truth.
Through this combination of analogue art and digital efficiency, the magic of stop-motion can be preserved while accelerating production.
