Description

The master’s thesis “Imagine the most yellowish green” is dedicated to the phenomenon of color as a field of tension between design medium and sensory-perceptual phenomenon.

Based on models that attempt to systematize color and the simultaneous observation that the perception of colors always depends on a wide variety of factors, the question arises as to what effects this has on the way designers understand and use it as a medium.

This tension is to be made tangible through the conception of installative works as well as the engagement with print-specific color properties. The experimental works place the fragility of color impressions in the foreground and show how the logic of digital design processes differs from the conditions of physical materials.
