Description

This project interrogates the toxic acceleration of serial production and its erosion of emotional value. In a direct re-sponse, it fuses the industrial logic of CNC milling with the unyielding nature of 18 mm Birch plywood. Utilizing the principles of Kirigami, the art of cutting and folding a singular plane, the work transforms two-dimensional surfaces into complex, hybrid forms that defy immediate categorization.

A forced deceleration in an “efficiency”-obsessed culture.

While digital tools promise speed, the material demands radical patience, every act of haste is irreversibly etched into the wood.

The resulting objects serve as a silent protest against planned obsolescence and the “new-reflex”: the contemporary habit of replacing things before they are even worn out.

The object’s ultimate form is not a finished solution, but an invitation for a physical and mental perspective shift. By subverting functional expectations the work challenges the user to become an active participant.
