Ideologien visualisieren
Filter, Perspektiven und Bedeutungen im politischen Raum
Description
In my bachelor’s thesis, I asked whether and how ideologies can be visualised without bias. Based on six political macro-ideologies – from communism to fascism – I developed my own visual analysis method, drawing on Michael Freeden’s ideology morphology and Clifford Geertz’s theory of symbols. Using a ChatGPT API interface, a tool was created to systematically analyse ideological concepts. The results generated vast visual worlds with almost 3,000 symbolic images.
The core idea was to make ideological perspectives visible: only by changing one’s standpoint and shifting one’s viewpoint do other perspectives become accessible. The prototype, an immersive space, allows exactly that. The outcome is the foundation for an educational policy tool that makes ideological complexity visually tangible.
