Description

Halo is an AI-powered wearable designed for visually impaired people. Worn around the head, it combines cameras, headphones, and a haptic feedback system to translate visual information into acoustic and tactile signals.
Users can ask Halo questions about their surroundings at any time: ‘Which bus is arriving?’ or ‘How long is this milk good for?’ The integrated AI recognises objects and text in real time. It evaluates information in context — based on location, activity, and user preferences — and provides situationally relevant guidance and warnings.
A key feature is the haptic feedback: six vibration motors in the neck convey directional information through targeted impulses, entirely without speech. This guidance allows, for example, targeted reaching for a specific product in a supermarket.
Halo is lightweight, easy to use, and promotes independence and safety in everyday life.
