The process of growing up is a topic that affects us all, yet there is hardly any open communication about experiencing and navigating the time leading up to “adulthood”.
Yet that could be exactly the key to enabling young adults to alleviate, categorize, or even prevent newly emerging growth pains (“Growing Pains”) and not to feel alone in their initial overwhelm.
Make(ing) it make sense: In my endeavor to bridge this communicative gap with the help of design, I first broke down this multi-faceted topic in the context of intimate interviews. The special focus was on uncovering insights and experiences regarding the individual perspective of those growing up and those who have already grown up, across different generations, life circumstances, and mentalities. I then bundled these empirical values, prepared them, and made them accessible in the form of an illustrated magazine.
