Rural areas are facing major challenges: More than half of the world's population now live in cities. Why is that the case? And what does the perfect rural area look like for young people so that migration to cities is reduced? In other words: How can young people use design to express their ideas for attractive rural areas of the future in a way that is both understandable and visually convincing to others? The goal of the “Future Dome” is to find that out. Giving young people a voice can help rural areas transform into more attractive places to live. Imagining different futures for oneself is a skill that is encouraged in the Dome. It is a mobile exhibition space in which ideas for the future are visualised. AI generates a 360° panoramic perspective in the interior of the Dome using a dedicated application. This allows visitors to experience their own ideas for the future.
