“Fermentar” is a concept that aims to reduce food waste in our kitchen. Approximately one third of the food produced worldwide ends up in the garbage. This wastes many valuable resources and incurs unnecessary costs. Most importantly, it shows that we have lost our appreciation for food. Fermentar is a family of glass jars that enable resource-efficient storage, processing, and fermentation. They help preserve the natural nutrients, freshness and flavour of food and provide space for multiple uses such as storage, pickling and fermentation. Fermentar represents an approach to change behaviour towards food and provides an opportunity to handle it carefully. Additionally, the benefits of fermenting as an alternative food preparation and preservation method should be integrated into a modern kitchen.
