Description

The ‘ERDWARE’ project explores how an ecological approach and the innovative use of clay enable alternative design concepts. The focus is on the design of a luminaire, where the material properties of clay and new processing methods are central. The shape of the lamp evolved from the natural properties of clay. Traditional techniques and modern design approaches have been combined to utilise the clay functionally and aesthetically. The work shows that experimental approaches and the combination of traditional knowledge with modern principles can create sustainable solutions in industrial design.
