Since the concept of the classic bra has not really changed in the last 50 years, this work seeks a new approach: away from lifting breasts to please men, or hiding breasts to protect oneself from them, towards – and partly back – to the relieving garment that makes life and work easier for women.

Away from a male, objectifying perspective towards a new, emancipatory and need-oriented perspective, aligned with the needs of the wearers. In doing so, a feminist-motivated redesign was aimed for through the consideration of the development of the bra and its predecessors, its cultural significance, material research and targeted surveys.

Finally, a prototype was made in various applied trials.

The product turns the bra into a relieving garment that enables people with breasts to feel comfortable in their bodies, far away from patriarchal design traditions.
