Design of a float & anchor for spearfishing
An Analysis Considering Safety Aspects and Modulation Requirements for Different Bodies of Water, Fields of Use and Environmental Influences
Description
The main aspects of the design task of this work were the safety and modularity of a buoy and an anchor for spearfishing. When designing the buoy, the safety aspects were improved through extra possibilities to integrate GPS modules, an emergency whistle and improved visibility thanks to the use of the colour “fluorescent green”. Large handles offer comfort when swimming and carrying, as well as a secure grip for when you are exhausted. Modularity of the buoy is addressed through the flexible construction of the buoy. Through a system of handle modules and centre pieces, the buoy can be used in different shapes, sizes and for different functions. When designing the anchor, modularity and safety were implemented through an adjustable weight solution and free choice of end pieces. That makes it possible to ensure that the buoy does not drift away from the user and that the anchor can provide a secure hold on a wide variety of surfaces.
