Description
The starting point of this work was the building block as an interface between architecture and design. Through iterative work a plug-in system of pine plywood was synthesized, which has an industrial quality through CNC manufacturing and is completed by the playful assembly of the individual parts – without further screws or aids. A locally producible, parametrically changeable flatpack construction kit, consisting of only one material with renewable origin. The flexibility of déclic extends from expandable wall shelving to exhibition systems to stages and micro-architectures that are assembled lego-like, brick by brick. The structural stability of the déclic mechanism is created by interlocking the individual
parts to form cubes, which have undercut recesses at their edges, allowing them to be stacked in a form-fitting manner offset from one another and can only be separated again by applying force upwards.
