Description
My work is concerned with the ornamentation of Islamic art. in contrast to this, it deals with the ornamentlessness at the beginning of the 20th century and its effect on the design in the european region. In this work, I reflected on the dialougue of my own experiences from my first home Fés (Morocco, North Africa) , and my studies & life in my second home Düsseldorf (Germany). This work opened the circle for me and invites others into a space of encounter to recalibrate views and values. A sensual and flexible space is created in which one can simply be, open up, dare, look at each others in the eyes. The potential for development lies in the human being itself. My position in this regard is the following: the past is known, the future lies in the stars. More than 100 years ago, the Bauhäusler started to rethink the world. Following this tradition, I would like to encourage to continue to rethink the world; avoiding everything rigid, being experimental, and acting open-minded.
