Daydreamer: Air as a constructive element
Strollers are a central means of transport for many new parents. Despite continuous advancements, existing systems have limitations regarding transportability. The cause is predominantly the used frame-based understructures with rigid tube structures, which cause a large pack size.
Inspired by inflatable structural elements from kite sports, different material systems, manufacturing processes, and construction principles were analyzed and reviewed regarding their transferability to this area of application.
Diverse functional and experimental models were created during the development process, which led to new insights and offered opportunities for further development. The result is a lightweight, compact, and quickly assembled mobility product that purposefully utilizes the constructive properties of air and opens up new perspectives for product design.
