Das Dörflein
Ein Zuhause für Menschen und Demenzen
Description
The topic of dementia already affects around 1.8 million people in Germany. It is likely that this number could triple by 2050.
In my bachelor’s thesis, I focused on the topic of the ‘Dementia Village’, a form of care for people with dementia that can offer a higher quality of life compared to conventional nursing homes. My goal was to communicate these benefits appealingly through branding, while keeping the brand approachable and recognisable, and addressing the actual needs of those affected and their relatives. The result is a lively corporate design for ‘Dörflein’, featuring affectionate illustrations, friendly typography, and an authentic visual world.
Through the brochure, the animated website, or at the annual ‘Dörflein Festival’, relatives and those affected learn about the benefits of the dementia village care model. The brand’s credo: joy of life despite dementia!
