Eine interaktive Website zur Darstellung von 3D-Texturen im virtuellen Raum
Description
‘MaterialSpace’ is a digital solution for product and 3D design that replaces classic or physical material samples with a digital version that behaves like the original within the respective 3D tools. My aim is to prevent unnecessary material consumption that arises during the various iterations of product development and to create awareness of when it is necessary to use a physical sample and when it is not.
To better present the materials in the digital space, I chose strong storytelling with interactive elements. The user enters the ‘MaterialSpace’, a galaxy full of material samples that can be interacted with. The individual materials are represented as planets or asteroids to depict surface, reflection, and other material properties in an application-oriented way. The site can be navigated using filters or suggested groups.
