Description
The work deals with police violence at demonstrations, rallies and political actions. A look at social media shows a noticeable discrepancy between violent misconduct and conventional media coverage. How do we manage to give this topic the necessary publicity? In the form of interviews, different perspectives were shown, causes explored, criticism expressed and improvements devised. The resulting conversations were staged photographically and typographically. For this purpose, demonstrations were accompanied by documentary photography and the body posture of the police officers, in escalatory situations, was translated into a usable writing system. Through personal experience reports, paired with excerpts from various studies, the resulting wall newspaper opens up a public space for discussion about state violence and its legitimacy.
