Description

“COOK/ABILITY” is a service concept that gives people with tetraplegia more self-determination in cooking through an individualised, intuitive, and flexible system. COOK/ABILITY is the result of a three-part design: the product itself, the service that the product provides, and the app that communicates the service. The product consists of a fully customisable handle that can be combined with a large product family of different kitchen tools. The service enables the customisation of the handle and the selection of available kitchen tools through the app. Through its participatory approach, COOK/ABILITY creates more accessibility, independence and ultimately inclusion. COOK/ABILITY is designed in such a way that it can easily be expanded to assist many other groups of people with physical disabilities.
