Conversations with strangers
Kontakt Kiosk
Description
In a world shaped by digital interactions, real encounters are becoming increasingly rare. Conversations with Strangers demonstrates how vacant spaces can be transformed into vibrant third places – spaces that foster creativity, exchange, and dialogue among young adults.
With How to: Third Place, a practical guide was developed to revitalise unused spaces in small and medium-sized towns – offering concrete tools to promote community.
As the start-up Kontakt Kiosk, we tested these ideas in two pilot projects in Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Gmünd. Interactive exhibition events with participatory installations and welcoming meeting spaces brought the concept to life.
By combining research and practice, Conversations with Strangers stands for openness, accessibility, and meaningful encounters in rural areas.
