The free-standing exhibit informs visitors about the risks that artificial intelligence poses for reliable information dissemination on the internet and social media. Designed as a double-sided installation, a good-versus-evil polarisation is created. Approaching the exhibit from the front, a regularly updated news feed is displayed. The origin of the news items is not visible. On the rear display, the sources of the displayed news are revealed. Using terms printed on small tiles taken from a box, word combinations can be laid out and read by a camera. AI then generates a deceptively real news item consisting of a headline, a brief teaser, and a photo. If, in the view of the creators, the result is convincing, it can be ‘published’ on both feeds. The intention is to demonstrate to users, through a change of roles, the risks of AI-supported manipulation.
