Colts & Catacombs is the final project of my studies and documents the fictional game ‘Colts & Catacombs’.
We live in a world of many truths. Internet communities foster the emergence of alternative narratives and explanations — a world of their own truths and perspectives that hold validity within isolated groups.
Colts & Catacombs, the game I simulate in my work, exists in this grey area. In the moment of experiencing and interacting with my project, it comes to life.
As long as the viewer remains within the ‘magic circle’, surrendering to the illusion of what is shown, Colts & Catacombs exists as a fragmented remnant of another time.
However, as soon as one takes a step back, the fiction collapses and, like many self-affirming truths and grand narratives, turns to dust and empty words.
