On explorative walks through her neighborhood, I focus on a group of often-overlooked urban dwellers: lichens. These simple organisms elude human control and resist the extractivist logic of capitalism – yet they transform hostile environments into livable spaces, using the power of interspecies collaboration.

Artistic research, field explorations, and philosophical inquiry culminate in a publication that bridges the personal and the theoretical, the microscopic and the planetary. It invites us to cultivate the art of noticing – and to encounter the quiet wisdom of the ancient lives we share the city with.
