C.O.W. - Circular Organic Waste
Community-Kitchen with Autonomous Energy Production
Description
C.O.W. is a self-sufficient cooking station for local communities. Just as in a cow's stomach, biogas and biofertilizer are produced using a fermenter through the bacterial decomposition of cellulose in a CO₂-neutral way. The open-source system is circular and, in addition to providing community employment, promotes an awareness of energy consumption and biowaste as a usable resource. The fuel gas produced is stored in a reservoir where it is visible and serves as fuel for food preparation. The resulting biowaste can then be returned to the process as an energy source.
