Description
The “Blaumann” stool is a multifunctional design project for construction workers on German construction sites. The Blaumann Tool Stool is designed as a seat for micro-breaks and supports short, ergonomic breaks in everyday working life. At the same time, it forms a lockable storage unit for tools and personal items that protects against dust, dirt, and water. Research and observations show that a lack of breaks contributes to declining concentration, increased stress, and thus to more accidents on construction sites. The physical product is supplemented by an NFC chip as a digital layer for tracking, organization, and return. The design is optimized for rotational molding and consists of 100% post-industrial PP. By combining comfort, function, and a circular material approach, a simple, direct, and robust solution is created that focuses on the well-being of the workers and promotes a human-centered building culture.
