bioblocks
Bringing More Biodiversity to Urban Spaces
Description
The idea of “bioblocks” is to be able to build plant installations made from recycled materials at many locations in the city by the inhabitants themselves. The concept aims to allow any interested person, completely independent of knowledge and previous experience, to create a biodiverse space playful assembly process. Particular attention is paid to paved surfaces, where no other kinds of interventions are possible. An installation consists of two different modules which are assembled from strips of used advertising banners and can be expanded as desired. They are then filled with soil and planted with a selection of vegetation that can accommodate as many species as possible.
