Assistance

Description

The project ‘Assistance’ is concerned with the design of a migraine companion in the form of a support kit. Various jewellery and written objects serve as psychological comfort tools that provide the user with the necessary support during a migraine phase. Simple and abstract reference objects are intended to create a base of neutral tools that can be used discreetly in everyday life and when needed. The set consists of six objects and a fabric cover that, when attached to the head, can also be used to reduce light sensitivity. The order in which the items are arranged, from top left, also determines the order in which they are used, creating a kind of routine. While the individual objects relieve physical pain when applied locally to specific acupressure points, the support diary serves as a companion and documentation tool for the acceptance and manifestation of the migraine condition.
