Description

The work Balance of Ornament and Body seeks ways to create an appearance for clothing that reflects the sculptural aspect of the body and experiments with the principles of ornamentation.

Through playing with the representation of abstraction and reference to the body, forms and expressions emerge that explore balance and the accentuation of harmonious distribution on the body.

The focus lies on a coherent composition of the overall appearance.
By means of the technical implementation of textile surface design in knitting, possibilities are explored to give the designed ornaments an additional facet of expression and to visualise the designs in their complete textile appearance.
